Dinner Two

Pajama parties have been around for several decades now with the fun still increasing at every party.
There are several ideas for pajama parties including themes, games, activities, and the food supplied. When you are looking to host a pajama party dinner you will find a plethora of ideas just on the dinner alone. Here is how I would plan two different pajama party dinner ideas.
The first idea is a murder mystery pajama party dinner. There are plenty of games available in the stores or you can create your own murder mystery surrounded by the theme of pajamas. It will depend on how inventive you can be.
At a murder mystery pajama party dinner the diners will need to come dressed as characters related to pajama outfits. As soon as they walk in the door they will need to adopt their character for the most enjoyment.
Over the dinner hour you will be giving out clues based on the murder mystery you have chosen. At the end of the pajama party dinner the culprit will be revealed.
Keep in mind at the dinner table you can have clues as the food items given or hidden in the items around the table to make it more interesting. The pajama party dinner can last through the evening as a sleepover party or end after a couple of hours. It will be your choice.
The second idea for a pajama party dinner is the progressive dinner. A progressive dinner starts off at one person’s house and ends at another. In other words at the first house you are served cocktails and appetizers.
Moving around the friends homes you will be getting the salad portion, the main dish, and continue on until you hit the last house. Depending on how many couples or friends you have invited you will need to come up with the appropriate number of dinner courses.
Usually you spend about an hour at each person’s house. During the progressive dinner party you can substitute food and drinks for activities such as games and other ideas. When you combine this with a pajama party dinner you all will be dressed in pajamas and you will end up staying the night at one person’s house to continue with the fun and games.

The Dinner $3.48 Dr. Paulson’s newest book, The Dinner: The Political Conversation Your Mother Told You Never to Have, chronicles a dinner conversation between two couples from different parties and background as they explore a political conversation their mother never wanted them to have. There is no name calling, just two couples trying to address issues impacting a critical choice—Who will I vote for in the election this November? No boring position papers in this book—just straight talk over dinner about political issues that make a difference for America. The book allows you to pull up a chair to the dinner and listen in! When asked to explain why they vote Republican, the Republican couple shares the Pillars of Republican Values—Tax relief, smaller government, educational excellence and the American Dream. They share how America’s strong military and free market capitalism are critical to lasting world peace. Both couples struggle with the Tough Three—Abortion, healthcare and the immigration challenge. There is even a self-test to identify what you believe on the values that separate Republicans and Democrats. |

Dinner for Two $19.48 Dinner for Two is a feisty, irreverent novel about a fifty-something professor and his dinner dates with a female student. Jack Burns is currently dating Jessica Fontaine, an English major, who is mesmerized by the notorious professor’s extraordinary tales of drunken debauchery, chronic drug addiction, crimes of robbery as the "Speedy Bandit," and his wild adventures in exotic countries like searching for the opium-addled "Flat Man" in the heart of Mexico. Jessica finds out his sister thinks she is a character in a Bob Dylan song, and all the men in his family are alcoholic, and all the women are crazy. Jessica believes she’s discovered a wealth of material to write her own short stories based on Jack’s life. But things get complicated because Jack is holding back a deeply guarded secret that he dare not tell Jessica. Readers will be drawn into these two people’s lives as each new dinner brings more disturbing surprises and new twists and turns in Jack and Jessica’s relationship. |

Dinner Theatre $11.98 The first book about the dinner theatre genre and industry, Dinner Theatre: A Survey and Directory, is part history, part manual, and part reference guide. Written at the practical level, the book presents advice on operating a dinner theatre, with insights from practitioners, performers, and other professionals in the field. Beginning with an introduction to the variety and range of dinner theatre operations and a historical perspective, it proceeds to examine the two major components, food service and productions, and the business concerns that stem from running a composite restaurant and theatre. Selective well-known and successful dinner theatres are profiled with data on operational statistics and staffing as well as historical notes and commentary. A geographical directory of dinner theatres throughout the United States follows. The volume concludes with a listing of information sources, including associations, unions, rental/royalty houses, periodicals, and suppliers. Views of representative theatres and productions and a selection of menus illustrate the work. The book will be a useful resource for persons working in the industry on the productions, food, and business ends, purveyors of services to the industry, and researchers and patrons seeking information about it. |

Dinner with Dad $3.98 “Our kitchen is small, the appliances dated. We don’t have a fancy six-burner stove or double wall oven like some of our wealthier neighbors. But as I remove the second pizza from the oven, the kitchen feels perfect: neither too big nor too small, neither too old nor too new. The kind of kitchen where my brother can enter carrying both my son and my daughter in his arms.”–from Dinner with DadA beautiful, intelligent wife, two bright children, a gorgeous home in a nice Connecticut suburb, an ample income as a successful lawyer: by all accounts, Cameron Stracher is living the American dream. Problem is, thanks to a crazybusy work schedule, he’s never home to enjoy it. Most nights Cameron grabs dinner on the run, eating on the late train home long after his wife and kids have finished their meal. So one day Cameron commits himself to a revolutionary experiment: For the next year, he’ll be home by six o’clock at least five days a week to sit down to a real family dinner–and he’ll even help cook that dinner himself. “Instead of stuffing a taco into my mouth in the back of the train, I will sauté chicken and peppers for my own fajitas. Instead of dining alone, I will dine with my family. Instead of Absent Dad, I will be Nourishing Dad.” But as this daring adventure gets under way, it becomes clear that the road to culinary togetherness is no cakewalk. Six-year-old Lulu eats only plain pasta with salt and nine-year-old Simon clings immovably to hot dogs. What’s more, Cameron begins to feel that his normally sympathetic wife, Christine, is growing tired of having him underfoot at unexpected hours. Only the author’s faith in another American dream–family closeness at the dinner table–keeps him moving, and as he shops, chops, and cooks, he ponders the high percentage of Americans who’d rather work than be with their families, who’d rather take conference calls than meet the school bus.Fired with love and humor, wit and heart, and peppered with engaging social and cultural history, Dinner with Dad is a four-star, five-course celebration of family life. Millions of overextended parents will relate to and relish Cameron’s journey as he discovers what truly matters most.Advance praise for Dinner with Dad:“Dinner with Dad is for every spouse who’s ever crashed on the rocks of the suburban dream and for every parent who’s had his heart broken by a child’s turned-up nose. Stracher writes with humor and honesty about the pitfalls and triumphs of trying to have your family and eat with them, too.” –Julie Powell, author of Julie & Julia “Busy fathers everywhere will immediately identify with this book, and hopefully will heed its message. Well done, Cameron–someone needed to write this book. Now dads everywhere need to read it.”–Mike Greenberg, author of Why My Wife Thinks I’m an Idiot“… |

Aladdin/Dinner Music $17.58 Less than a year after Ace subsidiary BGP paired Songs and Hey Love onto one disc, Raven released a two-fer that made Aladdin and Dinner Music available on one disc. Not only do the original albums deserve to be released separately, but both the Raven and BGP two-fers ruin the strange sleeve artwork that adorned the original LPs. Aladdin/Dinner Music is a bit sore on the eyes, placing shrunken photos of the original covers in front of a background of intersecting ovals. As of 2003, this was the only way to obtain either album on CD. Neither album matches Rotary Connection, Songs, or Hey Love, but each has a couple of great songs. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide |

The What’S-For-Dinner Cookbook $16.98 The What’s-for-Dinner Cookbook is the brainchild of two friends who for years had asked themselves, “What are we going to have for dinner?” as they thought of how they would feed their families every evening. The result is a cookbook and kitchen planner designed to help organize the kitchen, plan meals a week at a time, and organize shopping so that the ingredients needed for every meal are available at the right time. Based on the four seasons of the year, the book provides five days of planned, well-balanced dinners for every week. The recipes are kitchen-tested family favorites with an emphasis on fresh seasonal foods, thus encouraging homemakers to save significant money by purchasing ingredients when they are most abundant. Most of the recipes can be prepared in 30 minutes or less. They are presented in such a way that leftovers, such as chicken or roast, can be included in meals planned for later in a week. Quick tips designed to save time and expense are also included. These address such practical matters as when to shred extra cheese or chop an additional onion for use later in the week, which can save time in preparing meals. Extensive weekly and bulk shopping lists are coded by day to allow for family tastes or the requirements of special diets. The What’s-for-Dinner Cookbook is perfect for busy moms, new parents and working parents, newlyweds and those who have cooked for their families for years. Never worry about dinner again. The planning is already done. COOKING; COOKBOOKS 7” X 9”, 368 PAGES PAPERBACK |

No. 2 Live Dinner $11.88 Robert Earl Keen, Jr. is a Texan who did not take the express lane to the radio airwaves. Instead, he spent more than a decade seasoning his talent while entertaining folks in the — yep, you guessed it — friendly honky tonks of Texas, where music fans tend to like individualists with plenty of personality. No. 2 Live Dinner finished off a consistently powerful string of albums recorded for Sugar Hill Records. Taped in front of rowdy, beer-swilling crowds in two Texas towns, Keen bears his good-natured raspiness into songs of desperation, danger, and raucous humor. A contemporary of Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, and Nanci Griffith, Keen’s work has been as consistent and occasionally as strong as that of his friends. It’s taken him longer to gain a national profile, but it’s coming at a deserving time. For those unfamiliar with him, this live album will convey how well he’s loved in his home state. Listen closely, and the songs will explain why, too. ~ Michael McCall, All Music GuidePerformers: Bryan Duckworth – Fiddle; Lloyd Maines – Pedal Steel; Bill Whitbeck – Bass (Electric), Guitar (Bass); Rich Brotherton – Guitar, Guitar (Acoustic), Guitar (Electric), Guitar (Rhythm); Robert Earl Keen, Jr. – Guitar, Guitar (Acoustic), Guitar (Rhythm), Vocals |

My Dinner of Herbs $10.98 A star of two well-remembered television series, "The FBI" and "77 Sunset Strip," Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. looks back on the many different roads he has traveled in his lifetime and recreates his most memorable experiences in the prose of a true stylist. The son of two legendary musical talents, the violinist Efrem Zimbalist and the operatic soprano Alma Gluck, Efrem Jr. grew up on an estate in the Connecticut countryside. Long before he was a recognized actor, Zimbalist broke a show business barrier as coproducer of Gian Carlo Menotti’s operatic double bill, The Medium and The Telephone, on Broadway. Its critical and (surprising) commercial success led to Zimbalist’s coproduction of Menotti’s next opera, The Consul, also on Broadway and also with gratifying results, including the Pulitzer Prize. |
