How do I tell family not to share food with my toddler?

A family member had a lollipop in her mouth and offered it to my toddler. I stopped her before putting it in her mouth, but think that it is very inappropriate to even consider it. How do I tell her that I don’t feel comfortable with my child sharing certain types of food (that have been in the other person’s mouth), without causing a major issue?

I think the best solution is to tell them that you are trying to teach your toddler not to eat or drink other people’s food. After all, if she doesn’t learn that she may pick up food someone else has thrown on the ground at the park and eat that. Yech. It’s just not hygienic.
